Private Keys and Recovery Phrases: Know What You Hold
Private keys prove control; recovery phrases are commonly used to restore access. Both are sensitive credentials and should never be shared or pasted into unknown pages.

Reduce exposure first
Sensitive credentials should stay out of chats, cloud notes, screenshots and unknown forms. Keep the storage path simple and deliberate.
Review before signing
Check the network, destination, amount and permissions before every sensitive action. Familiarity is not a substitute for verification.
Keep recovery usable
A backup only helps when it is complete, readable and stored where you can recover it without exposing it to others.
Turn warnings into a repeatable habit
Most avoidable incidents happen when a check is skipped under time pressure. Use the same short sequence every time.
- Risk: Lookalike links and unexpected authorization requests.
- Check: Source, network, address, amount and permission scope.
- Action: Stop when context changes and verify again before signing.
Private keys and phrases never belong in unknown forms
Any page asking for a private key or recovery phrase to “verify” a wallet deserves extreme caution. Legitimate support should not need those credentials.
